Support of a financing decision of a European VC group
Our customer: A European Venture Capital group
The objective: The VC requested an independent assessment of an endoscope technology of a German start-up company to decide whether or not to finance the company in a second stage funding round.
Our project: We interviewed the Management team and lead scientists of the company to understand the development status, remaining development risks and the technical realisation potential. An analysis of the production process with the manufacturer clarified the realisation risk of the cost saving initiatives.
The benefit to our customer: The VC group financed the company with 4.5 m EUR in September 2008.

Technical and commercial due dilligence
Our customer: An international Venture Capital Group
The objective: A technical due diligence for a novel dialysis system needed to be carried out to assist a multi-million euros investment.
Our project: The Management and Development teams were interviewed and technical documentation and literature analysed. The competition and key suppliers were evaluated and critical success factors documented.
The benefit to our customer: The investors better understood relevant development and market entry risks. They recognised the potential of the technology and were able to balance this against the outstanding technical risks.
Financing and restructuring a German start-up
Our customer: A German start-up company developing innovative synthetic materials.
The objective: To win an equity investor to finance medical device product developments.
Our project: We led the worldwide search for investors, prepared the company presentation, carried out the due diligence and subsequent negotiations with the investors. After securing funding we led the re-structuring process of the organisation and streamlined the development portfolio.
The benefit to our customer: The start-up was financed and is now worth double-digit millions Euros. The company could focus its development effort on high value medical devices.
