„It'll be interesting to see pharmaceuticals enter the medical device markets - and vice versa. Not to replace but to complement each other. This will open up totally different treatment options for patients."
My professional career started as a scientist in Pharma R&D. For more than 10 years, I have lived and worked in Great Britain; initially as project manager at a start-up company that developed anti-cancer drugs, then at GlaxoSmithKline in Antibiotics research. After my MBA study in Cambridge, I worked as a technology- and management consultant for investors, start-ups and global pharmaceutical and medical technology corporations.
I worked with Preclinical Development teams and advised them how to evaluate and optimise their candidate selection on the basis of transparent and tangible decision-making criteria like value, risk and cost. I also helped organisations to improve interactions between Clinical Development outputs and market entry plans. For medical device companies I developed product commercialisation strategies and carried out company, technology and project risk assessments to support strategic investments or implementation of risk mitigation processes.
For VCs I performed a number of technical and commercial Due Diligences not only to establish clear decision criteria for their investment but also to allow an active participation of investors in organisational transformations. As Interim Manager I supported companies to realise necessary strategic and operational changes and worked on research projects to align them with market needs.
